How to Convert HDMI to IPTV: What You Actually Need
You cannot turn an HDMI cable directly into IPTV. You normally need an encoder that captures the HDMI signal, compresses it and sends it over your network using a supported streaming protocol.
What equipment is required?
A typical workflow includes an HDMI source, an HDMI-capable encoder, a network connection and a receiving server or player. The exact equipment depends on whether you need one local stream or a larger distribution system.
Basic signal path
The source connects to the encoder over HDMI. The encoder converts the signal into a compressed digital stream, then sends it to the configured network destination. A compatible player or IPTV platform receives and decodes that stream.
What about HDCP?
Some HDMI sources use copy-protection mechanisms. You should not attempt to bypass protection. Use sources and capture workflows that you are authorized to use and that comply with the source provider's terms.
How do you choose settings?
Match resolution and frame rate to the source, choose a widely supported codec and select a bitrate appropriate for the desired quality and available bandwidth. Test the complete workflow before deployment.
